Dr. Muzzamal Habib serves as our medical director. He is American Board for Internal Medicine and American Board for Vascular Medicine certified and is eligible for American Board for Addiction Medicine. Dr. Habib completed his undergraduate medical education from Punjab Medical College/University of Punjab Pakistan before completing membership with the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He finished his internship at University College Hospital Galway Ireland and residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston.
Though initial interest of Dr. Habib was vascular medicine which he still continues, but during his residency Dr. Habib was exposed to addiction medicine which he fell in love with the specialty. He was really impressed with close human relationship with his patients and how treating addictions could not only preserve dignity, livelihood and save families and children. After finishing his medical residency training he has focused on preventive medicine, and joined only level 4 inpatient detox center in Boston as attending physician. Dr. Habib has worked providing addiction and behavioral health services at St. Elizabeth Medical Center since 2012. During his practice there he has been instrumental in starting MCHAT program, a program which specializes in the care for pregnant women and young mothers dealing with addiction in close collaboration with high risk obstetrics team. He has special interest in treating addiction in young adults (aged from 18-25). He is confident in his approach and is very professional. He loves to connect and know his patients well to help them by using all the means possible.
In addition to providing a non judgement clinical addiction medicine practice he also maintains his teaching and training interests and serves as clinical instructor for Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
